Live Events and Sneaks…

The only character I’m playing really heavy is my Bright Wizard. Since this character is my PvP only character it makes it hard to participate in live events. Though I’m not to bothered by this for some reason. I like hopping on jumping into the scenario que and then looking for someone to kill in the RvR lakes. It suits me just fine. I’m a little skeptical on the changes to the BW that took place during 1.2. I try to read up on certain things, and one of the major things was the amount of backlash, or damage to us from using spells at high combustion. I have been noticing it more and more as I level the amount of damage I do to myself. I love the mechanic, but I think I mentioned in a previous post we need some more tinkering. The official boards are up which is nice because for the most part the community is giving alot of great feedback. So, hopefully one day us BW will be back on par with what we should be.

Ok, back to the live events thing. I’m a little odd when it comes to events and things like that in MMO’s. I’m willing to participate, but I donnot want to go out of my daily routine. I like getting into a groove or a niche and staying put. Right now that groove is to gain levels as fast as I can. I need to see some of this T4 content! I’m getting the internet back at the house today so hopefully I will have some time to play a little more in the evenings now. I gotta start a Choppa also and start getting rompus with him. Anyway these live events pretty much are the same. Introduce a scenario and do these tasks. Good thing most of these tasks you can do without changing your groove, but if you are a pvp only character forget it. Most though by now probably have a character they use for certain situations. Anyway happy Bitter Rival’ing!

Enter the WCPI…

It has begun! The beast that is the Warhammer Community Promotional Iniative, and I do mean beast in all sense of the word. This thing isn’t even a week old yet and people are flocking to it! I’m stoked because it’s introducing me to new sites to read and get some info from. Plus let me tell you, the people involed are all really cool and enthused about the WCPI also. Everyone is throwing around links like cans of beer at a prom party! I like cans of beer btw, all kinds I do not discriminate, and whiskey! Back on topic though, let me give you some little incite on this WCPI thing.

To participate all you have to do is be a part of a fansite, blog, or anything else covering Warhammer. Then once a week just link to someone else that is a member of the WCPI. Once a week for anyone is easy enough. Plus there are giving incentives for people who top the “shout out” charts. The cool thing about this is people when they are doing there “shout outs” just aren’t dropping one link, but several. People are returning the linking favor also. I know I’m doing it over at the VN, and I’m going to try to do about 2-4 at a time. I’ve got two posts up this first week btw!

So if you got something to share then share it, and help others share what they got so your sharing gets shared back!

I Got Upgraded…

I have known for a few days now, but waited until to announce they upgraded me at the Vault Network. I’m now an Assistant Site Manager! This puts me that much closer to world domination. I’m really excited about the new sense of responsibility I will have there.

Some other things I want to touch on also is I added the WAR Forums links linking to popular WAR Sites. Also I’m going to try and add some mroe info to this blog. Right now it is just me ranting and raving which I plan to keep doing, but would be nice to have some “useful” info also. If you have any ideas for me please drop me a line.

New Wallpaper…

Over at Portraits of WAR, Forjador has posted a new wallpaper that is awesome. I’ll be using this wallpaper for awhile, or until he comes up with some more hotness. It comes in 1600×1200, but I’m sure he will be making some new sizes for it. As always stay tuned to his impressive work!

And a Choppin I will Go…

See that meter thing there on the right side? That’s a berserker meter, and that red stuff you see is the level of my berserkerness. That’s right I played a Choppa this morning for a few minutes, and I’m super pumped just like Regis is over at Wizards n Wenches. Don’t think we will see him for awhile since he’s prolly going buck-wild on the EU PTS. As for me I’m hoping to put a few hours into “Rowdy”, the Choppa’s name, this weekend mixed in my BW “Sneaks”. I was going to write a quick look or make a first impression post, but I decided to hold off until I get some more play time. I will give you this though; WAAAAAAAAGH!!!

RvR Influence…

So, the other day I went to the other two pairings to check out the rewards and see what was popping. Low and behold nothing was popping and the rewards weren’t the effort. I maxxed out the influence in Empire vs Chaos and decided that would be sufficient. Then proceded to head back to T2 and start jumping in on some scenarios. To my surprise the couple of scenarios I played in I did pretty good. I wasn’t topping the damage charts but for a level 12 I felt as though I held my own. I had some good healers also that managed to keep me up a few times I thought I was a goner. I even participated in an attempt to take a BO. Though it was unsuccessful because a group of Destro higher levels just had to keep interfereing. It was still fun, and I’m looking forward to getting in on some keep sieges and maybe snag a gold bag or 2 or 100!

Portraits of War…

Over at the newly created Portraits at War blog my VN buddy, Forjador, is doing some impressive work. I have the pleasure of working beside him over at the Vault Network where he has been handling most of the images we need for our site. He has recently started his own blog (linked above), and has already put out a couple impressive works. I would definately keep an eye on this guy if you like WAR art, and things similar. I wish him the best of luck with his endeavors, and hope he keeps it up.

Need A Banner…

If anyone is looking for a banner for their blog let me know. I know I entered a banner for Codpiece over at KotFH because he is running some contest, and I want to win. Not really for the prize, but he just needed something better then what he has now. Plus I want to gloat, just joking, but not really. So if anyone is looking for a banner or simply just help on an image or what not shoot me a tell. No payment needed, just make sure I’m on your blogroll please.

Forums Are Up…

Mythic has unleashd there forums in a Beta phase for the PTS. Yesterday I spent most of my time browsing what other people wrote, and fooling with my settings. There are a lot of settings! Most of them I left set to default which the default settings are pretty standard and seem to be consistant with all other boards. I think they still have to work out a few things which are kinda buggy, but all and all good stuff so far. To login just use your game login and you are good to go. I think the best thing so far is pretty much everything has been somewhat constructive if not well constructive reguarding a wide range of things. I have only seen a few “naysayers” making there unwelcomed presence there so far.

This morning I have spent most of my time looking over the Bright Wizard board reading different players input, and posting some of my own. I’m in the buff us BW a bit boat, because I think we are missing the cannon part of the “glass cannon”. Not by much I just want to do a little more damage, and have a way to do damage through elemental resists. Especially since most damage from a BW is elemental. I have not had an oppurtunity to play my BW yet on the test server because character copy is acting wacky for me, but hoping later on today I will. I’m just a little concerned the higher I get the harder it will be for me to do damage against elemental resist stacked classes. That and the inceneration path is not on par with the damage it needs to be putting out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying BW’s should be like they were on release because that was to much power. I just think we need a little boost or something to break through heavy resist players.

All in all, I think these forums will be a great way to stay in tuned with the masses and help make WAR better. The response to them already is crazy considering they aren’t even a day old yet. I’m looking forward to the changes in 1.2 and testing them soon. Also I’m getting closer and closer to being a CHOPPA!

Done Tier 1…

That’s right, I’m done Tier 1. I burned, boiled, and backlashed my way through T1 like a hot knife through butter. I think this time it was even more fun then the other 4-5 times I have done it including OB/CB. It seemed no matter when I logged on there were people to group with and kill other groups. The scenarios would pop and a good rate, and never once had to stand around and wait. Dark Crag is full of life these days with server transfers really helping it out. Some big guilds came to Order’s help, and have really made it for a pretty even fight in the upper tiers. I can’t wait till I’m up there fireballing! Here is a shot of my ToK after the last scenario I participated in after dinging 12. Also I added a link to my realm war profile.

Realm War Profile

In the next couple of paragraphs I’m going to be discussing some of the highs and lows of this PvP only challenge, and what I plan on doing in T2. Also let me just say this, that so far there have been alot more highs then lows.

Highs:

1. One of the biggest highs was to actually see that T1 was hopping anytime I logged on. I never had to look for action. I could simply pop in a scenario or run out of the Empire warcamp straight into the back and forth struggle of capturing battlefield objectives. This made the first 11 levels easy. Since I play on an open pvp server I even went out by myself seeking some 1v1 or 1v2 battles. I only found a couple of 1v1’s, the best facing off against a Zealot that was one level higher then I was. I had a hard time out-damaging his healing, but in the end I bested him.

2. Most of the scenarios that I played in were fun, and even matched. I know the first time around on Dark Crag on my old DoK that it seemed like Destro always had the upper hand. I remember really laying it on Order sometimes like 500-50 and below. This time though I can count a half a dozen times or so where the race to 500 was only split by 25 points or less. This led to a scenario grind not being so bad, and actualy alot of fun at times.

3. I didn’t run into that many idiots. This is a high because generally the more people in a place the more idiots there are. I only ran into a few who thought that caps lock would help them get their point across. Sometimes it wasn’t even a bad point, but since they had to act like a jack-ass people brushed their point off.

4. The PvP was good and plentiful, and I LOVE PvP INFLUENCE. I think this system was a wonderful idea and I’m glad it’s there. It has helped me get some decent gear and I’m looking forward to maxxing out the other two pairings asap.

Lows:

1. Getting gear is going to be increasingly hard. I only have three ways to get gear. I can get a drop, pvp influence, and renown gear. The first requires luck which I sometimes lack if not all the time. The second requires time, and by the time I max it out I might need better gear. Then thirdly this requires gold which I donnot have an abundant cashflow. I will be hitting the greed button everytime in hopes of gaining some extra gold.

2. I never took the time to be all that social. I was hopinh to find a group to play with on a regular basis, but have not really found anyone yet. Though most of this is my fault for not trying to make friends, and something I plan to fix in T2.

Plans for T2:

First I need to go back and max out my T1 influence in the other pairings, and hopefully gain a couple of levels. After this I will go back to the scenario grind and hopefully be able to compete well. I’m also going to be a little more social and try to find a steady group or guild to play with. Though I’m not going to join a zerg guild because that’s not my style.
